Donald McDevitt, L.C.P.C.
Executive Director
Donald McDevitt is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (State of
Illinois), a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago and a Certified
Psychoanalyst. Mr. McDevitt serves as adjunct faculty in the Graduate
Program of Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University and is on
the Training Committee of the C.G. Jung Institute. He has over 18 years'
experience in mental health and has held clinical and administrative positions
in managed care and community mental health organizations.
Dee Beaubien, M.A.
Grant Writing/Quality Control Consultant
Dee Beaubien did her graduate work at Northwestern University, where she
received a master's degree in counseling psychology in 1978. Most of her
professional career has focused on work with persons with schizophrenia
and affective disorders and their families. Ms. Beaubien developed and
implemented Northwest Mental Health Center's Family Support Program in
1978, one of the first psychoeducational programs in the area for families
of persons with schizophrenia, manic-depressive illness and other affective
and anxiety disorders. Ms. Beaubien helped to form and later served as
advisor to the Alliance for Mentally Ill, Northwest Suburban Chapter and
as advisor the AMI-Illinois.
Janelle Miller Moravek
Director of Development
Janelle has been helping secure funding for Youth & Family's mission
and programs since October 2000. As Director of Development, she prepares
grant proposals for local foundations and corporations, manages the individual
giving programs, helps organize special events, and works with our Board
of Directors Development Committee.
Family Circle Coordinator: Sarah Christian
Sarah has a background in the fine arts and education. She received her
graduate degree in clinical social work from Loyola University-Chicago.
As a psychotherapist, Sarah specializes in treating individuals, adults
and couples.
Sarah is also the program coordinator for Youth & Family's Family
Circle Program. Family Circle is a parent support and education program
designed to strengthen and enhance family life.

Denise Ambre, L.C.S.W.
Denise has been with Youth and Family Counseling since 1992.She began
as a clinical intern and joined the staff full-time after graduating with
honors from Loyola University-Chicago. She has a Bachelor of Science in
engineering from Northwestern University and worked as an engineer in
the corporate world before returning to school for her masters. As a part
of our counseling program, Denise see families, couples, and individuals
of all ages. However, she specializes in treating children. She is also
the co-leader for the Women's Connection program.
Sarah Christian, L.C.S.W.
Sarah has a background in the fine arts and education. She received her

Gary Friend, L.C.P.
Gary received his degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University
and completed his clinical training at Youth and Family Counseling. His
special interest is working with couples who are experiencing marital
problems. Another area of Gary's expertise is related to his other vocation.
He is a practicing podiatrist and senior partner in a medical group. For
this reason, Gary is especially qualified to work with professional partnerships
and family businesses whose members are experiencing conflict. He believes
that communicative and empathic skills are essential to relating successfully
and resolving conflict. These ideas are as applicable to groups of doctors
or lawyers as they are to married couples.

Deane Happ, L.C.S.W.
Deane Happ has been at Youth and Family since 1989. She began her tenure
at the agency as a clinical intern and after graduating with honors from
Loyola University-Chicago she joined the counseling staff. She specializes
in treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders. She also has expertise
in treating problems related to relationships, employment, midlife, parenting
and care giving.
Mary Krueger, L.C.P.C.
Mary joined the YFC clinical staff in 1997. She has completed all her
doctoral course work and internship requirements and is currently trudging
through the arduous dissertation process. Prior to her arrival at YFC
she worked in a variety of social service venues. She brings years of
individual and group counseling experience. She has taught undergraduate
and graduate counseling and psychology courses and also maintains a small
private practice. At YFC Mary is part of our counseling program and is
the point person for the Women's Connection program.
Bob Marsh, L.C.S.W.
Bob Marsh received his M.S.W. degree from Loyola University of Chicago
in 1994. He trained in inpatient psychiatric and community mental health
settings. He worked as a social worker and bereavement counselor with
Horizon Hospice in Chicago form 1994 to 1997, before joining the staff
at YFC. In addition to drawing on current psychodynamic theory, Bob's
work with clients is inevitably informed by his interests and background
in music, philosophy and spirituality.
Lynn Moosman, M.A.
Lynn started her professional life with a Masters Degree in Business where
she worked for large corporations in Human Resource Management. Her experience
in this capacity ranged from Training and Development and interviewing,
to employee counseling. Most recently, she received her Masters Degree
in Professional Counseling from Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
Her experience as a psychotherapist includes primarily working with individual
adults and couples. Lynn's interest in working with clients includes a
wide range of adjustment and mood disorders as well as sexual and gender
issues.
David Ransburg

Carol Saldinger, L.C.S.W.
Carol Saldinger practices psychotherapy with individual adults, adolescents,
children and couples. She graduated in 1981 with honors from Loyola University's
School of Social Work. Beginning in 1979, after her 2 year internship,
Carol is a 20 year veteran at Youth and Family Counseling. She has been
a Training Supervisor to graduate school interns, and additionally, is
Coordinator of YFC's Employee Assistance Program. Her treatment includes
work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, issues
of loss, post traumatic stress and life transition issues, including gender
identity questions. She maintains a private practice. She enjoys reading,
music (almost any kind), and hiking in the mountains.
Cindy Solomon, M.S.W.
Cindy Solomon received her Masters degree in Social Work from New Mexico
Highlands University. She recently moved to Chicago in July of 1999 and
joined the staff at Youth and Family Counseling. She attends the Psychotherapy
Program at the Psychoanalytic Institute in Chicago. She is interested
in psychodynamically oriented psychotherapy. In her spare time, she enjoys
playing guitar, reading and running.
Karen Welsh, L.C.P.C.
Karen received her Masters Degree from the Illinois School of Professional
Psychology. She began her counseling career at Glen Oaks Hospital in the
adolescent day hospital, therapeutic day school and inpatient programs.
During this time facilitated a group for sexually abused adolescent girls
and did individual counseling with many of the adolescent patients.
Karen is now on staff with Youth & Family doing individual counseling
with a specialization in children and adolescents. She is also the group
coordinator for the Kids Who Care Program, a program for children dealing
with life threatening illness or death in the family.
