Karen Welsh, M.A., L.C.P.C.

Karen obtained her MA degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, has experience working with children, adolescents and their families in an inpatient, day hospital, therapeutic day school and outpatient counseling setting.  She also has over twenty years experience working with the emotional sensitivities of gifted/talented children.  This experience includes facilitaing a group for sexually abused adolescent girls and co-facilitating group counseling for hospitalized adolescents.  At YFC, she has been the coordinator of two families acculturating into the US.  She counsels individuals of all ages, and families with a specialized interest in working with adolescents.  Her private practice specializes in counseling for the issues facing the gifted/talented.  Karen also has an MS in Statistics and an MA in Economics from Miami University and is a retired enrolled actuary.
