Karen Welsh, L.C.P.C.
Aprendiendo Jugando (AJ), is an after-school enrichment program
for Hispanic first through fourth-graders at Hawthorn Elementary
School in Vernon Hills.
This unique program is designed to help the children improve
their English skills and adapt to the American culture.
The goals of the program are to improve the children's school
performance and help them develop peer relationships with their
young American friends.
AJ counts on high school and adult volunteers to help organize
weekly sessions and interact with the children.
People interested in becoming an AJ volunteer should contact
Karen Welsh at (847) 367-5991, extension 23, or e-mail her
at karen.welsh@yfc-libertyville.com.
Aprendiendo Jugando is made possible by the United Way of Lake
County, The York Children's Foundation, The Lake County Community
Foundation, and the Kraft Employee Fund, a workplace-giving
program supported by contributions from Kraft Foods North America,
Inc. employees and retirees across the Chicago area. Kraft Foods
